Larry passed away January 31, 2018 in the Moosehaven Life Care Center at the age of 78.
So may we encourage one another with these truths
He was born to Andrew and Vernona Nissen on May 22, 1939 in Ridgeville Corners, Ohio.
Larry married Doris Hartman Weber on May 3, 1979 in Christianburg, Virginia.
He served in the US Army from September 30, 1958 until September 29, 1961.
While serving in the Army Larry learned a lot about electronics. It wasn’t until he was out of the Army that he learned the switches he made were for the atomic bomb.
He worked for Sprint Communications as a repair technician for 20 plus years, retiring in 2003.
Larry became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose on October 17, 1981 when he joined Orlando, Florida Lodge #766.
Larry and his wife, Doris came to Moosehaven on November 9, 2004 where he resided for 13 years.
Larry enjoyed his sunshine job as the resident watch repair man and tinkering with other small electronics. He enjoyed the outdoors especially playing golf.
He is survived by his wife Doris Nissen; mother, Verona Nissen, children; Cliff, Daniel, Steven, and LaDeanie, sister, Kay Reno, brother, Scott Nissen; 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 1:00pm in the Moosehaven Chapel with internment in the Moosehaven Mausoleum. Services will be conducted by Rev. Helen Taylor and Officers of Opportunity Lodge.
