Angela Grubbs, 50, passed away peacefully in her sleep June 6, 2022.
The oldest of three children, Angela was born in August 1971 in Tampa, Florida. Her family later moved to the Jacksonville/Green Cove Springs area in 1983 where she spent the majority of her life.
Angela had many loves, one of which was time spent with her family. She spent her days with her youngest daughter, Haylee and partner, Speedy! She enjoyed every moment she had with her grandbabies and loved their attitudes. She genuinely got a kick out of everything they did. Nothing was too small or too big to bring a smile (or smirk) to her face.
Angela loved vacationing, relaxing, camping with her parents, trips to the mountains, and exploring the various states where her oldest daughter, son-in-law (USAF) and grandchildren have lived.
She loved sightseeing, no matter how many times she’d been to a location. Do you know she even once flew all the way to Boston just to immediately turn around and drive back down to Florida with her daughter and grandchildren – that’s a 19-hour drive!!
Angela was always up for adventures. Once, in her late 20’s, she took her little sister and her best friend, Regina, on a trip to Peace River for an overnight camping and canoeing experience. She and Regina, played the Meatloaf tape non-stop all the way to the camp spot. This memory will forever live in her sister’s mind. Ginger can even recall waking up the next morning to find alligator prints all around the tent that they’d slept in the previous night, surprised none of them ended up Gator Bait!
One thing a lot of people probably didn’t know, was that Angela put energy and time into trying to foster children. Over the past few years, she took classes and had tried to get through the process be eligible for foster children.
Angela will be remembered as an affectionate daughter, sister, mother, partner, and grandmother, as well as a true friend with some serious sass! Angela is survived by partner Speedy Walker; daughters, Haylee Walker, Heather Turner and husband David Turner; mother and father Joyce and Eddie Padgett; sister Ginger Burris and husband David Burris; grandchildren Peyton and Audrey Turner.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made in Angela's name to Kids First of Florida (here)-OR- Family Support Services of North Florida, INC. (here)-- organizations that Angela felt strongly about.
The family will receive friends at 10:00am on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel and funeral services will start at 11:00am with Reverend Charlie Hunt officiating. Burial will follow at Black Creek Cemetery.
