Anna May (Travis) Stramaglia, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2019 surrounded by her family. Born to James and Evelyn (Kendall) Travis on March 30, 1931 in New Albany, Indiana and was the youngest of three children. With her husband Joseph Stramaglia, she had three children, the youngest of which who is recently deceased Anthony James (Amy) Stramaglia. She is survived by her two children, Joseph Ralph Stramaglia Jr. and Gina Marie Waltrip; 6 Grandchildren, Bryan (Leslie) Gilmore, Dustin Cogdill, Sara (Forrest) Blair, Austin (Ryan) Waltrip, Katherine (Cris) DeBeer, Alexis Stramaglia; 11 Great-Grandchildren, Kaden Gilmore, Brianna Gilmore, Brooklyn Kiser, Mariah Blair, Hannah Gilmore, Savannah Gilmore, Ansley DeBeer, Emma Blair, Aurora Waltrip, Levi Waltrip, and Abby DeBeer. In her youth, Anna grew up on a farm where she gained her love for the outdoors, animals, and fruit trees. She loved seeing all of the beautiful flowers and butterflies in the springtime an often shared her fond memories of these times with her loved ones. Throughout her childhood she also participated in the girl scouts and learned many life skills on the farm where she also learned her passion for baking from her mother. She met her husband Joseph Ralph Stramaglia in 1953 on a blind date; a story she loved to share. They had plans to see each other again the next night and much to her surprise he was late. She was so upset because she cared for him so much already. Little did she know he was late because he was buying her an engagement ring. When he arrived, she was thrilled with his proposal and they were wed the following February of 1954 in Indiana. They were married for 57 wonderful years, creating countless fond memories and a big beautiful family. They moved to Massachusetts for a short time after they were married and then after Joseph’s time in the Army, they moved to Jacksonville, Florida. During which time she was a devoted wife and mother, sharing her love through her delectable recipes, crocheting and sewing blankets and quilts for her entire family. She was blessed with the gift of being great with numbers which lead her on a path of careers as a seamstress for some time and then later a bond underwriter. She never forgot a birthday or important date for anyone. Her personality was full of joy and love, and she would always see the best in everyone she met with never an unkind word to say about anyone. Her wisdom, humor, and love will be greatly missed. A service to honor her memory will be held at Middleburg United Methodist Church 3925 Main Street, Middleburg, Florida 32068 on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at 11am. All are welcome.
