Anthony (Tony) James Stramaglia

April 6, 1967 — September 17, 2019

Anthony (Tony) James Stramaglia, 52, of Middleburg FL. passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2019, surrounded by his family. Born to Joseph and Anna (Travis) Stramaglia, in Jacksonville, FL on April 6, 1967, spent his childhood years at Christ The King Catholic Church and went to Christ The King Catholic School participating in the cub scouts, the baseball team, and served as an Alter Boy. Through his childhood and adolescence, Tony loved spending time at his father’s barber shop on Rogero Road in Arlington. Tony, a husband, father, and son, was dedicated to his family spreading joy to his loved ones through his never wavering compassion, selflessness, and caring nature. His life and memories live on through his wife, Amy, his Mother Anna, two daughters, Sara Blair and Katherine DeBeer, four granddaughters, Mariah, Ansley, Emma, and Abby, Son-in-laws Forrest Blair and Cris DeBeer, brother, Joe Stramaglia, sister, Gina Waltrip, and many, many extended family of nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, friends and loved ones. He and Amy were married in December of 1988 and were blessed with years of fond memories. He would say so often how his family meant more to him than anything and he loved nothing more than spoiling his grandbabies. He never met a stranger and loved sharing his stories of growing up, his favorite moments, and his dreams for the future. As an avid collector he found great joy in his watches, NASCAR memorabilia, coins, and the Dallas Cowboys. He was very fond of teaching his girls to play poker, fishing with the boys, playing darts, and binge-watching SCI-FI flicks with his love. He was always looking out for, if not literally fighting for, the underdog or those who couldn’t protect themselves. His passion for animals was felt by many and was devoted to his pup Macy, rescued many animals in need over the years, and never let any stray kitty mouth go hungry. His selfless nature drove him to express his love through giving lavish gifts, reliable advice, and spending quality time with those dearest to him. His wisdom, sense of humor, and affection will be so greatly missed while his spirit will continue to live on with us forever. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Maverick Animal Clinic (404 Madison Avenue, Orange Park, FL 32065 ph:904-276-8101) in memory of Tony. Donations can be made under his daughter’s name, Sara Blair, to contribute to the spay and neuter and health maintenance costs of his beloved four-legged friends. Your contribution will help his passion for animals live on for many years to come. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, September 27, 2019 at St. Luke Catholic Church, 1606 Blanding Blvd., Middleburg, FL 32068 at 10:30am with a reception to follow. All are welcome.
