Arthur "Arty" Ayers

Arthur “Arty” Ayers passed away May 19, 2021 at Orange Park Medical Center. Arty worked as a mechanic most of his life. Anyone that knew him, knew he liked to “Cut the Fool!”. If he wasn’t “Cuttin the fool” with someone he was actually thinking about it. HA HA!!! Arty loved sitting around a good fire with his oysters and a cold one. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and anything to do with the outdoors. Most family and friends will tell you the first person they would call if needed was “Uncle Arty”!!!!

Arty was born May 26, 1957 to the late John and Alice (Prevatt) Ayers in Orange Park, FL at Pureal Medical Center.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Anthony “Tony” Ayers; and his sisters, Nina Ayers Hatcher and Diane Ayers Savage.

He is survived by his children, Kenlee (Roscoe) Ayers, Anthony Ayers, Joyce Lynn (Zach) McCormack, Nikki (Justin) Stroud and Julia (Keith) Hudson; grandchildren, Olivia, Victoria, Justin, Landon, Baby Hudson, Warren and Wyatt; siblings, Big John (Donna) Ayers, Lee (Cherie) Ayers, Jeanette Ayers, Annette Ayers, and Bert (Diana) Jimmison. Many nieces, nephews, and friends as Arty will be deeply missed by all who loved him dearly.

The family will receive friends from 11:00am – 12:00pm, Saturday, May 22, 2021 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 12:00pm with Rev. Ronnie Surrency officiating. Graveside service to follow at Peoria Cemetery.
