Arthur "Henry" Sohm, Jr.

Arthur Henry Sohm, Jr, 82, passed from this life on February 13, 2025 at Haven Hospice in Orange Park, Florida. Henry was born on September 13, 1942, in Green Cove Springs, Florida to Arthur Henry Sohm and Vivian Hall Sohm. 

He is survived by his wife, Celia Manassa Sohm; two sons, Billy Sohm (Carol) of Green Cove Springs, FL and Daivid Sohm (Debbie) or Jacksonville, FL; two brothers, Don Sohm (Marlyce) of Green Cove Springs and Howard Sohm (Gloria) of Holly Hill, SC; sister, Lily Jean Sobotta (Joe) or Green Cove Springs, FL as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Henry graduated from Clay High School, where he was voted “Most Athletic” in the yearbook, and a class favorite with his high school sweetheart, Celia. They married soon out of high school and began their beloved family.

Henry enjoyed a long career as a mechanical contractor, first with W.W. Gay, and then with World Com, retiring in 2001. The ensuing years provided Henry with the opportunity to enjoy his many pleasant pastimes. He was an avid fisherman, both fresh water and saltwater. He also enjoyed scuba diving. He was an avid Florida Gator and Jacksonville Jaguar fan. Henry and Celia were charter members of the Magnolia Point Golf and Country Club, where they played golf extensively.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00pm on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at the Green Cove Springs Church of Christ. There will be a gathering for family and friends after the service at Roger That Wings, 232 Walnut Street, Green Cove Springs, FL 32043.
