Audrey Pauline Johns of Fleming Island, FL, passed away at age 74 on February 19, 2022 after a long illness. She was born to Wesley and Grace Wicker on October 6, 1947 in Enterprise, Alabama. She will be remembered as a loving wife and mother who was active in Navy Wives Clubs and school Parent Teacher Associations. When her husband’s Navy career brought the family home to Jacksonville, Pauline returned to school and graduated from Florida Junior College with an associate degree in nursing and became a Registered Nurse. She worked in the healthcare industry until her health prevented her from continuing the work she loved.
Pauline is survived by her husband of 50 years, Charles; sons, Ken and Jason; granddaughters, Raina and Aster Pringle. She is also survived by sisters, Carolyn Wicker Waldron and Shirley Wicker; brothers, Wesley and Richard Wicker as well as many nieces and nephews
Her long and difficult battle with failing health is over and she is finally at rest. She will be forever loved and remembered.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday, March 11, 2022, at the Jacksonville National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Community Hospice & Palliative Care.
