Barbara "Mimi" Sikes Carr

Barbara Sikes Carr went home to Heaven Sunday January 5, 2020 at Community Hospice Bailey Center for Caring. She was born at home in Jacksonville, FL on December 28, 1932.

She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 44 years, L. D. Carr and her son, Ernest D. Carr (Gail). She is survived by her daughter, Danette Lynn (Jeff); Grandson, Alan Lynn (Erin); Great-Grandson, Christopher Lynn; daughter-in-law, Gail Carr of Arcadia, FL; Gail’s daughters, Jennifer Hall (Casey), Martha Dumont (Paul) and their children, Haley Snipes, Clayton Hall, Jacob Berube, Joseph Berube, and Julia Dumont and niece, Linda Ness (Lee). She was a Master Cosmetologist, working at Marvin’s Beauty Salon in Jacksonville for 16 years. She then worked at the Reception Desk at Riverside Clinic for 16 years.

She was a member of the Southern Baptist faith, sharing the love of Christ & Salvation until her voice failed.

She loved gardening, cooking, baking, singing, sewing, crocheting, & the many cats in her lifetime.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00am at Riverside Memorial Park on Friday January 10, 2020 with Rev. W. Allen Nelson officiating.
