Barbara Coon

On January 10, 2021, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all, Barbara (Barb) Coon, 69, left this world suddenly and ascended to her eternal home in Heaven.  Barbara was one of 12 children born to Edward Raymond and Evea Mae (Taft) Matzinger in Toledo, Ohio on April 17, 1951.  She graduated from Edgewater High School in 1969 and shortly after married her husband Donald Ray Coon.  Barbara spent her life as a CNA, seamstress, and homemaker, spreading joy wherever she went.  Her greatest pleasures in life were the simple ones, including crafting, fishing, playing bingo, and spending time with her family.  Barbara never met a stranger and will be remembered widely for her kindness, especially among her loved ones.  She was the glue that held her family together and the sunshine in their days.  They will not soon forget her mischievous grin, her delicious potato salad, or her love for popsicles. 

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 51 years, Donald, daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and Scott Siedschlag, son, Donald D. Coon, grandchildren, Zachary and Haley Siedschlag, grandpups, Sophia and Sally, brother, John, sisters, Verna, Mary Ann, Alice, and Shirley, as well as many other nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Melvin, Edward Jr., and James, and sisters Margaret, Elizabeth, and Bonnie.

Funeral services will be given by Reverend Charlie Hunt at Black Pond Baptist Church 3644 Old Jennings Rd, Middleburg, Florida on January 30, 2021 at 11 AM.  Interment will be held immediately after in the adjacent cemetery.
