Barbara Jean Leger

 January 4, 1933 – November 8, 2020

BJ passed away November 8, 2020 in the Orange Park Medical Center at the age of 87.

She was born to Hugh Irvin and Jennie Smith on January 4, 1933 in Versailles, Kentucky. She had 4 brothers and 1 sister.

BJ married Joe Freeman August 6, 1955. He preceded her in death on February 9, 1997.  She married John Leger on June 21, 2001.  He preceded her in death on March 23, 2002.

She was a driver for Enterprise Rent A Car retiring in 2008.

BJ became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose on September 10, 1968 when she joined Orlando, Florida Chapter #1002.  She received her Academy of Friendship degree on April 25, 1971 and her College of Regents on June 21, 2008.  She was a Star Recorder on May 26, 2000.  BJ sponsored 201 members in her life time.

She came to Moosehaven on May 29, 2008 where she has resided for 12 years. 

The internment of her ashes will be placed in Bushnell Veterans Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida next to her husband, John, date to be determined.

She is survived by her sister Nancy Cofer of Versailes, Kentucky and brother William (Janice) Smith of Plainfield, IL 60544.
