Barbara Anne Ross

Barbara Anne Ross passed away on April 27, 2024, in Jacksonville, Florida surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 27, 1955, in Passaic, NJ, Barbara was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, wife and friend. 

She was predeceased by her father, Frank Zarkowski and her mother, Mary Kuchta Zarkowski.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Ross; daughter, Emily Elizabeth Pascale and her husband, Alex Pascale; granddaughter, Evelyn DeSales Pascale; sister, Linda Schofield and her husband, George Schofield; and her twin brother, Frank Zarkowski and Cindy Simmons, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She will be missed dearly by her loving dogs, Frankie and Finn. 

Barbara fought a courageous battle against cancer and gave all she had in the battle.

Barbara loved spending time with her most cherished loved ones, her daughter, Emily and granddaughter, Evie. She loved them with all her heart and they will miss her so much. 

She loved the beach, traveling across the country in her RV and visiting local, state and national parks with her dogs by her side. 

Barbara also loved animals and had a variety of pets during her childhood (a duck, hamsters, cats and dogs) and as an adult (3 Golden Retrievers, Pickles, Cash and Finn and a rescue, Frankie).

Barbara retired from the Florida State Department of Children and Families where she worked for many years. She lived in Keystone Heights, Florida before moving to St. Augustine. She loved St. Augustine and after moving there, worked as a trolley operator, sharing her love of the city with others.

 She was a Jimmy Buffet fan and loved living across from the beach in her home in St. Augustine.
