Bernard Edward Mayer, Jr.

Bernard Edward Mayer Jr., 78, of Jacksonville, passed away April 7, 2019.  He was born on May 3, 1940 in Philadelphia, PA to parents, Bernard and Anna Mae (Havel) Mayer, Sr. Mr. Mayer served his country in the United States Navy and Army Reserve Veteran, serving in Desert Storm. He retired from Ford Motor Company and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Fleming Island and St Paul's Catholic Church of Jacksonville.  Mr. Mayer was a member of Knights of Columbus and Franciscan Order and will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.   

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ann Mayer and is survived by son, Bernard Edward Mayer, III.; former wife Shauna; daughter's, Donnell Penney, husband Richard, Annette Stafford, husband Randy and Susan Perry; grandchildren, Jessica Penney, Jonathan Penney, Haley Mayer and Tabitha Perry.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am, Monday, April 15, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Donal Sullivan as Celebrant.  A reception will follow at Sullivan Hall.
