Betty Jean Mumby

January 29, 1930 — December 31, 2018

Betty Mumby, age 88, of Jacksonville, Florida, died on December 31, 2018. A true “domestic goddess”, she dedicated her life to the support of her husband, the raising of four children, and to service of God in the church. She was married for 66 years to Frank W. Mumby, III, who preceded her in death in May, 2017.

She is remembered for thoughtful hospitality, love of family, and deep spirituality. She was elegant and beautiful, soft-spoken and kind.

She is survived by her daughters Pamela Mumby (Robert Lundquist), Jackie Haynes (Woody Haynes), and Beth Mumby (Richard Kaufman). Her son, Frank W. Mumby, IV, preceded her in death. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Jack Williams, Nathan Lundquist, Joseph Haynes, Paul Haynes, Alexander Mumby, and Sarah Mumby; and two great grandchildren: Michelle Williams and Liam Willams.

There will be a graveside service on January 18 at 10:30 AM at the Jacksonville National Cemetery. A memorial service will be held on the same day at 2:00 PM at All Souls Anglican Church, 4042 Hartley Road. A reception will follow.
