Betty Frances Nail

June 7, 1938 — August 25, 2018

On Saturday, August 25, 2018, Betty F (Duvall) Nail, the most amazing Mother, Mamaw, and Friend, passed away suddenly at the age of 80 years young. Betty will be forever remembered by her children, Robin & Mark Sirois, Sam Duvall, Elita Clark, her grandchildren, Kelli Sewell, Daulton Duvall, Markie Clark and John-Robert Clark and 3 great-grandchildren along with her extended family and dear friends.

She was a graduate of David Lipscomb Collage in Nashville, TN where she graduated with an Associates in Psychology. She was a longtime resident in Olive Hill, KY, where her and her husband, at the time, Bob Duvall ran the Western Auto. They were very active in the community and Church.

Betty moved to Florida in 1987 and married Kelly Nail.

A Celebration of her wonderful life will be held on Saturday, September 1, from 2-4pm in the Broadus-Raines Chapel, 501 Spring Street, Green Cove Springs, FL 32043

Betty would like to let you know that her work here is done. She received a call, a sort of an offer you can’t refuse, for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time. Job security is exactly 110 percent. Her new mission takes her to a wonderful place where she will be socializing, dancing, and enjoying her eternal life to her heart’s content. Music, laughter and love are guaranteed. Food is delicious and you never gain an ounce. She left detailed instructions for Robin, Mark, Kelli and Calvin and her children to celebrate her mission here, which has now been completed. Low adherence to this instruction will not be tolerated.

If you want to, you can look for me in the evening sunset or with the earliest spring daffodils or amongst the flitting and fluttering butterflies.  Betty was world-renowned for her love and patience, not holding back her opinion and a knack for telling it like it is. She always told you the truth even if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear.

It was the school of hard knocks and yes we were told many times how she had to walk for miles in a blizzard to get to school, so suck it up.

With that said she was genuine to a fault, a pussy cat at heart (or lion) and yet the Outlaw in her, she would never sugar coated anything.  Her extensive vocabulary was more than highly proficient than most people learned in a lifetime. These words of encouragement, wisdom, and sometimes comfort, kept us in line, taught us the “school of hard knocks” and gave us something to pass down to our children.

Everyone always knew where you stood with her.  She liked you or she didn’t, it was black or white.

You know she'll be there in one form or another. Today she's happy and dancing, please don’t cry because she's gone; instead be happy that she was here. And laugh because, she is probably dancing naked!

(Or maybe you can cry a little bit).
