John William "Bill" Loos, Sr.

John William “Bill” Loos, Sr., a resident of Middleburg, Florida, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on December 12, 2023, concluding a valiant struggle with a prolonged illness. Bill was born January 13, 1953 in Port Canaveral, Florida. In 1968 Bill met the love of his life, Deborah Osborne. Their union in 1972 marked the commencement of a 51-year journey of shared joys and enduring companionship. Bill dedicated two decades of his life to the Motor Pool Division of the City of Jacksonville, as a skilled paint and body specialist before embracing a well-deserved retirement.

For years Bill’s greatest passion was anything involving hunting and fishing. Whether stalking deer in the wilderness or casting a line into the flowing currents of the St. Johns River, Bill found solace in these activities. However, as soon as Bill was deemed a papa, things began to shift. While his passion for hunting and fishing, still remained, it took a back seat to his love for his grandchildren; who quickly became his world. His grandchildren adored their papa beyond compare and he loved spending quality time with them.

Bill is survived by his devoted wife, Deborah Osborne Loos, and their three children: John William “Billy” Loos, Jr. of Middleburg, FL; Daniel Loos (Jessica) of Green Cove Springs, FL; and Kasey Williams (TJ) of Middleburg, FL. His enduring love extends to his six grandchildren: Abigail Loos, Nathan Loos, Emry Williams, Emily Williams, Isabel Loos, and Charlotte Williams.

Friends and well-wishers are invited to pay their respects between 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm on Monday, December 18, 2023, at Black Pond Baptist Church. Funeral services, officiated by Reverend Jason Brown, will commence at 2:00 pm, providing a space to celebrate Bill’s life and legacy.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests honoring Bill's memory through donations to the American Heart Association.
