Billy Clark Ledbetter Jr. passed away on Friday, January 8th, 2021. He was born to Billy Clark Ledbetter, Sr. and Helen Ward Ledbetter on May 5th, 1952 in Montgomery, Alabama. His family moved to Cobb County Georgia when Billy was in elementary school and he was a graduate of Campbell High School. After high school, he attended Marietta Vocational Technical School where he became a Master Licensed Electrician. He began working in the residential electrical areas and then the commercial electrical industry. Billy started his own company in 1995, Bill Ledbetter Electrical Company, Inc., where he employed 100+ people. Billy’s work ethic allowed him to work all over Georgia.
Billy married Jan Norris in 2003 at their home on Lake Sinclair surrounded by family and friends. This is where they eventually retired. During the 17 years that they lived on the lake, they hosted family including Billy’s mom Helen and friends from all over. The lakehouse became a retreat for anyone who needed a rest. Boat rides and tubing with the grandkids, feeding the fish, making homemade ice cream, golfing and fishing were among Billy’s favorite pastimes. Life was simple but busy. Billy and Jan sold their lakehouse in 2017 and moved to Green Cove Springs, Florida to be near Billy’s mom, “Miss Helen” and his sister, Lynne and her family.
Billy will be most remembered for his love of family, his quick wit, his humble character and his relentless work ethic. He was a caring man who listened to others well and was willing to offer help to anyone and he always led by example. He was loved and well thought of by many.
