Boomer Hough

Sumner Wayne Hough, nicknamed Boomer by his parents Charles Wayne & Sanna Frances Hough, was born on July 12, 1948 in Bloomington Illinois. He sadly passed away January 13, 2025 at the age of 76 in Jacksonville, Florida.

He had a blast in his early years as the drummer of the Maundy Quintet and his morning drive radio show that began at WUWU & ended at WGGG in Gainesville Florida.

Boomer spent 43 fun filled years of his life as Captain aboard his sailboat, The Legendary Pirates Lady. Lots of trips to the Bahamas, west coast of Florida, Saint John’s River and most notably the six years we lived in the US Virgin Islands, we both truly love the people we met there and the fun we had.

The past 25 years he spent enjoying & entertaining his family. He was extremely grateful for this season of his life & we are so happy to have spent this time with him.

He will be forever missed by his wife Christy, his three children, Tish (Mark ), Krista (Carlos ), Kristopher (Kristine ). Seven fun grandchildren, Kinsley, Abbey, Kody, Alex, Cadyn, Sophie & Elise.

Boomer was blessed with the beautiful gift of making everyone he met feel special and that is a wonderful memory to have.
