Brenda Darlene McGuirt

Brenda Darlene McGuirt, 62 years old, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024, in her home. Brenda was born on February 23, 1962 to parents Samuel Owens and Shirley Hall, here in Green Cove Springs, FL. 

Brenda was a loving wife of 42 years to her husband, Donald Gene McGuirt, Sr and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending all of her spare time with her grandkids. 

She is preceded in death by her father, Samuel Owens, sister Trenda Hogg, brother Samuel Owens, granddaughter Destiny Dyal, grandson Liam Iscoa, nephews Johnny and Tony Hogg, and her grandparents. 

She is survived by her husband, Donald Gene McGuirt, Sr., mother Shirley Hall, brother James Owens, and sister Lynn Markel. Children: Christy (Jamie) Deel, Misty (Gary) Gill, Donald (Hillary) McGuirt, Samantha (Brandon) Self, Thomas McGuirt, and Mellissa (Emerson) McGuirt. Grandchildren: Joshua (Heather), Meagan, Justin (Kaitlyn), Nathan, Clayton, Callie (Jax), Gary III, Maki, Eli, Branson, Donald III, Landon, Aliyah, Laura, Carly, Laila, and Dalyn. Great-Grandchildren: Colton, Bella, Ariana, Samuel, Jaimeson, and Annastasia. Along with many nieces and nephews, all of Green Cove Springs. 

A visitation for Brenda will be held on Thursday, August 29th, from 5-7pm at Broadus-Raines Funeral Home Chapel. Services will follow on Friday, August 30th, at 11am at Shiloh Baptist Church. Burial to follow at Shiloh Cemetery.
