Byron E. Bates

Byron E. Bates of Green Cove Springs, Florida passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at the age of 79. Byron was born on September 19, 1940 in Marshall, Michigan. He was the son of Russell and Evelyn Bates. Byron is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Wanda (McLain) Bates. Byron was a very hard-working businessman Starting his own steel company in Fort Lauderdale Florida. He was drawn to Florida for the warm weather and his love of fishing. Byron and his family moved to Green Cove Springs in 1991 and started a successful hot sauce business called Datil Dew.
