Carl Yochelson

Carl Yochelson was born January 11, 1941 in Los Angeles, CA. He departed this life on February 4, 2023 with family by his side in Orange Park, FL. Carl was survived by his best wife Betty, sister Rose, daughter Karen, stepchildren, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Carl proudly served in the United States Navy. He retired as Senior Chief Petty Officer and took great interest in the VFW. He joined Post 5968 in 1988, he was a perpetual member, he served as Commander in 2016, Trustee and House Committee. He was described as a driving force of post 5968 by a fellow member. He joined the Free Masons in 2003, at the Orange Park Lodge 267. He was a lifetime member who served as Worshipful Master in 2009. Carl was an active member of the Scottish Rite, Clay County Shrine Club, Beaches Shrine Club, Air Patrol and Thursday Mornings at the Morocco Temple for coffee and doughnuts with fellow masons. Carl also worked for FEMA, when needed and participated in the Volunteers in Police Service. He was highly valued and deeply appreciated for his service by his country and community. He loved his Wednesday golf. He was greatly loved by his family. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 11, 2023 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Chaplain Brent Beaird officiating. Military honors and Masonic Rites will be given at the service.
