Fifteen years ago, Carla met the love of her life: Jack Cassidy. They took many trips where they explored all of North America and many other countries. In meeting Jack, Carla gained a bonus family that includes: Celinda Trull (Alan) and Cheryl O'Donnell (Bob) and four additional grandchildren.
Carla had many talents and hobbies. Her most precious hobby was singing in Sweet Adeline’s International. She sang both Tenor and Baritone during her 30-year tenure. She sang with three choruses in her life including The Bridges of Harmony Chorus where she remained a member until she passed. She enjoyed singing in various quartets and loved to travel to her many competitions. She held the position of chorus treasurer. She enabled others to sing by coordinating the chorus' Angel Fund.
Carla was also a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and sang in their chorus. She was a very skilled artist. She painted; she made beautiful Nantucket baskets and purses. She made many pieces of jewelry. She loved to cook and made many delicious meals for her family and friends over the years.
Carla was a welcoming presence with a positive attitude who loved her family and friends very much. She also loved to help others and was always willing to help wherever needed, which made her a comfort to many. She always preferred to give rather than receive.
Carla's celebration of life will be just that. She wanted us to have an upbeat celebration without anyone wearing traditional black.
