Carole Tucker Larsson
November 20, 1943 – December 11, 2024
Carole Tucker Larsson, 81, of Orange Park, FL, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2024, surrounded by family after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Carole was born on November 20, 1943, in Green Cove Springs, FL, and was the last baby born at Dr. Fisher’s Hospital. She graduated from Clay High School in 1961. She was baptized, married, and attended services at the old Hickory Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Harold Eugene Larsson; her children, Gene Larsson, Amy Houston, Kristin Larsson, and Joshua Larsson; her brother, James Tucker; her sister, Barbara Tucker-Bullins; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many grand-furbabies. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Toby, a faithful companion who brought her great joy. Carole also leaves behind a large extended family and close friends who will forever cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Amanda Carole Larsson (d. 1967), and her parents, Corris McBride Tucker (d. 2011) and Loren Wilburn Tucker (d. 1999).
Carole held several jobs throughout her life, including at the Hosiery Mill in Green Cove Springs, the Federal Reserve Bank in downtown Jacksonville, and Burger King, before retiring from Western-Southern Life Insurance Company in 2013 after many years of service.
Her greatest joy was her family. Carole embraced motherhood and found purpose and fulfillment in raising her children. She loved serving as a home room mother and volunteering at her children’s schools. Throughout her life, she was a constant source of love, support, and guidance. Her children were her pride and joy, and her legacy of love will live on through them.
Carole also had a deep love for animals, though she might have made an exception for snakes! Her compassion for all creatures was evident in her many pets over the years, and she was an avid backyard bird and squirrel watcher. She especially enjoyed hearing stories and seeing photos of her son’s farm animals.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Humane Society of Orange Park (www.clayhumane.org) in honor of Carole’s love for animals or to MD Anderson Cancer Center (https://www.mdanderson.org/donors-volunteers/donate.html). Guests are also invited to share a photo of their furry or feathered friends in the online guestbook as a tribute to her memory.
The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Hickory Grove Cemetery, with Dr. H. Mark Nicholson officiating.
Carole will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
