Carolyn Flowers Bland

Carolyn Flowers Bland, 79 of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away on August 3, 2023. Born to parents Harry L. Flowers and Annie C. Flowers. She was a native of Green Cove Springs and grew up on the Flowers family farm. She was a long-time employee of the original Holiday Inn in Orange Park when it was opened in 1972 and retired after 20 years. She loved to garden and never seen a stray cat or dog that she didn’t take in and care for. The last 10 years of her life she struggled with Parkinson’s disease that ultimately took her life. She is now in the hands of our Lord. 

Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, Harry L. Flowers, Annie C. Flowers, husband, James E. Bland, sisters, Jeanette Flowers Brown, and Katherine Flowers Mercer. She is survived by her children Ronnie Gann (Lynne), Lisa Gilbert, Joe Gann (Divina), grandchildren, Carlie Gann, Luke Gann, and Chloe Blanc. The family would like to thank Vitas Hospice for their care and kindness during the last days of Carolyn’s life.
