Carolyn “Kay” Dapra, 80, of Orange Park, FL passed away peacefully on October 17, 2019. She was born on June 24, 1939 in Edgewood, PA to Earl Hultz and Thelma (Swem) Hultz. She grew up in Plum Borough and graduated from Plum Borough High School. She met Donald Dapra, Sr. at a dance they attened with his brother, Casimer Dapra and his girlfriend. They were later married on November 23, 1957. They were married just shy of 62 years.
Kay worked for Chick-Fil-A in the Orange Park Mall for several years and later worked for St. Johns County Day School where she managed the Student Council Food Store for several years until her retirement.
She was a devoted member of Advent Lutheran Church in Orange Park for several decades. She loved dedicating her time to support numerous activities and functions within her church. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and especially her great-grandchildren who all affectionately called her “MeMaw”. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, John “Jack” W. Hultz and Reverend Robert “Bob” Gray Hultz.
Kay is survived by her husband, Donald Dapra, Sr.; children, Don Dapra, Jr. (Lynda), Tina Hodges (Ron) and Denese Lee; grandchildren, Kevin, Matt, Brandi and Cody; great-grandchildren, Cole, Caysen, Caleb, Coral and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her family will cherish all the special moments and memories they have shared over the years. Kay, “Mom”, will be missed but not forgotten.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, November 8, 2019 at Advent Lutheran Church. Donations can be made in her name to Advent Lutheran Church or the American Heart Association.
