Cathy Compton Wright Howard

Cathy Compton Wright Howard, age 62, of Middleburg, FL passed away on January 2, 2025. She was born to parents, Randall and Jean Compton on May 11, 1962, in Breckinridge County, Kentucky. She graduated from Orange Park High School and worked as a phlebotomist for many years and in childcare for many years to follow. 

Cathy was a beloved member of Black Pond Baptist Church. Some of her favorite hobbies included fishing with her favorite fellas and thrifting with her favorite girls. She always loved to feed and fellowship with anyone.

Cathy will be remembered for being the best momma, loving wife and Mimi to most, the best shopping buddy, a phase 10 card shark and the most skilled back seat driver. She was the fisherman extraordinaire that caught his heart. And she was always the safe place, offering a listening ear and always welcoming. She will be remembered by being “always wright” even when she wasn’t, the best watermelon seed fighter around, the bratty baby sister but not only a sister but a best friend. We will all miss you, see you in heaven. She was preceded in death by Randall Compton, Jean Compton, April Ganion and Helen Cercy.

Cathy is survived by Paul Howard, Ryan Fromhart (Jennifer), Amber Nash (Christopher), Alan Murray (Taylor), Sydney Hodges (Hunter), Paige Dorner (Dustin), Hunter Ganion, Jacob Ganion, Billy Nash, William Cohen, Kevin Cohen, Brody Nash, several great grandchildren, Billie Hammett, Randy Compton (Jackie), Donna Compton, Jerry Compton, Rick Cercy and Helen Smith. 

A visitation for Cathy will be held on Monday, January 6, 2025, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Black Pond Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held the following day, Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 11:00am and burial will follow at Black Pond Cemetery.
