Charles “Bear” Roberts, 47, of Fleming Island, Florida passed away April 23rd, 2024. He was born to Bonnie Reagan and Joseph Roberts on February 6, 1977 in Orange Park, Florida.
Bear is a generational native to Green Cove Springs with many ties to the community, always supporting his Alma Mater Clay High School. He was dedicated and passionate about coaching baseball, one of the many sports he loved.
When Bear was not playing or coaching on the field you could always find him on the golf course playing 18 holes, competing at disc golf, or participating in his weekly axe throwing league, that’s only when he was not spending time with his family.
Bear was married to the love of his life Sharina Deason Roberts for 21 years. Together they had two sons, Devon Keith Seymour (wife Shelby and future grandson, Simon) and Elijah Bear Roberts.
Bear is preceded in death by his grandparents Catherine & Ira Roberts, Nathan Donald Kelley, and his father Joseph Ira Roberts.
In addition to his wife and sons, he is survived by his grandmother Frances Kelley, parents Bonnie & George Reagan, siblings Jason Roberts (Ashley), George Reagan (Melina) & Jennifer Reagan, mother and father in-law Sharon & Richard Deason, sister-in-law Dorena Dockery (Josh) and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts & uncles.
A celebration of Bear’s life will be held on Monday, April 29, 2024 at Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Green Cove Springs, Florida. The family will receive friends and loved ones from 2-3pm. Funeral services will immediately follow with Pastor Jesse Alexander officiating and subsequent burial at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Clay High School Baseball in Bear’s name.
