Charles Ray Carroll, 82, of Middleburg, Fl peacefully passed away on September 3, 2020 in Jacksonville, FL.
Charles was born on September 24, 1937 in Panama City, Florida to the late William and Stella Carroll. Charles was married to the love of his life, Barbara Carroll for 61 years.
Charles was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He enjoyed strumming away on his dobro, catching the biggest fish in the sea, and making a hole in ones as he played golf. He also loved seeing the world as he traveled the roads as a truck driver.
Charles graduated from Clinton High School in Clinton, South Carolina. Charles also received his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. He proudly served our country in the Navy (13 years) and continued to serve in the Army where he retired.
The interment of his ashes will be placed in columbarium at the Jacksonville National Cemetery in Jacksonville, Florida, date to be determined.
Charles is survived by his wife, Barbara Carroll; Daughters, Deborah Joyner (spouse Glen) of Charleston, SC, Cynthia Raulerson (spouse John) of Macclenny, FL, and Tonja Lafleur (spouse Chris) of Green Cove Springs, FL; 8 Grandkids, 9 Great Grandkids, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends for a memorial Thursday, September 10, 2020 from 7pm – 8pm at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 20 Cinnamon Street, Middleburg, Fl with Pastor Daniel Padgett officiating.
