Charles Allen Dukes

August 29, 1962 — February 19, 2024

Charles “Charlie” Allen Dukes, 61, born in Jacksonville, Florida, on August 29, 1962, passed away on February 19, 2024, in Orange Park, Florida. He was born to Clayton and Lois Dukes. Charlie graduated from Orange Park High School and became the proud owner of First Coast Tree Service Inc. He was a devoted member of First Baptist Church.

Charlie had a zest for life, particularly in extreme sports like dirt bike racing, NASCAR, water skiing, wakeboarding, boating, offshore fishing, shark teeth hunting, tree climbing, and alligator hunting. He loved tinkering around in the garage and surrounding himself with loved ones who cherished him. He will be remembered for his heart of gold, his giving spirit, his kind nature, his beautiful blue eyes, and infectious smile. Above all, he will be forever cherished for his unconditional love and care for his family, and the exemplary role he played as a father to his daughter. Passionate, determined, dedicated, and fiercely loyal, Charlie never allowed anyone to go without.

Many may recall him as the man who could catwalk (wheelie) his dirt bike for miles or as the neighborhood dad every kid dreamed of having, and the self-proclaimed “King” of Brickyard. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Lois Dukes.

Charlie is survived by his daughter, Brianna Dukes Boggs; daughter-in-law, Hannah Boggs; and his grandchildren, Avery and Remington; stepson, Brock Turner. He is also survived by his siblings, older brother, Clayton Thomas Dukes Jr., and his sister-in-law, Marsha Dukes; his oldest sister, Sandi; his niece, Misty Sawdo; and nephews, Chris Sawdo, Hunter Sawdo, David Like, Daniel Like, and Josh Like.

Services to honor his life will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, February 24, 2024, in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Chaplain Brent Beaird officiating.  The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park.
