Chris Reed

Mary Christine "Miss Chris" Reed, 68, Green Cove Springs, Florida, went home to be with Jesus on Monday, November 18, 2019. She was born on January 3, 1951, in Des Moines, Iowa.  Her parents are Vernon and Charlotte Wood.  She was a graduate of North High School, Des Moines, Iowa, and lovingly worked with children most of her life, most recently teaching at Hickory Grove Early Learning Center. Chris is survived by her adoring husband of fifty-one years, Jim Reed, and their three children Jayme, Ginger (Jason), and Bryan (Adele).   Chris was the world's best "Nanny" to her seven grandchildren: David, Blaine, Triston, Jena, Mikayla, Kara, and Dylan.  Chris is also survived by her brothers Greg, Mark, and David, as well as her sister, Angela.  She was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church. During her life, Chris enjoyed sewing, spending time with her grandchildren, and teaching. Chris will always be remembered most for her compassion, caring, and the love she shared with everyone she met.

The family will receive friends at 1:00pm on Monday, November 25, 2019 and her Celebration of Life will begin at 2:00pm at Hickory Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Tim McDaniel officiating.

A small reception will be held in the Fellowship Hall following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at the reception for distributions to be made in her honor and according to her wishes.
