Christine S. Chick

Christine S. Chick passed away peacefully June 20, 2024. Christine was born September 19,1937 in Grundy, Virginia to Jackson and Kentucky Stiltner. She was the second of sixteen children in the family.

Christine moved to Florida in 1965 and was a resident of Green Cove Springs for fifty-nine years. She worked at the Burlington Yarn Company in Green Cove Springs until the factory closed. She was then employed by the Clay County School District as a school bus driver and retired in 2003 after 30 years.

Christine was strong- willed and she always spoke honestly about the way she saw things. She will be remembered for her kind nature, beautiful spirit, and loving heart. Christine was a very loving and caring person who cherished her family, putting them first before anything else in her life. She was a beloved mother, wife, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Throughout her life her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. Christine always had a beautiful smile for everyone she met.

Christine is preceded in death by her two husbands, Linkous Bowman and Robert L. Chick, daughter Rebecca Carol Knight and granddaughter Kristi Anne Bowman. She is survived by her son Jeffrey N. Bowman and daughter JoAnn L. Doherty (Jeff), grandchildren Zachary Bowman, Justin Doherty (Holly), Joshua Doherty (Tanya), Jennifer Doherty (Katelyn), William Knight (Nicki) and great grandchildren Brianna, Kooper, Kinslee, Jenna, Waverly, Gabriel, Waide, Savannah, and Hayden.

The family will receive friends at 10:00 am on Friday, June 28, 2024, in the Broadus-Raines Chapel and funeral services will begin at 11:00 am. Burial to follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
