Constance “Connie” Cook Suggs, age 72, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 1, 2024, after a brief illness with pneumonia. Connie’s life was a testament to her deep faith, generous spirit, and unwavering commitment to helping others. A proud graduate of the University of Florida and member of Gator Nation, Connie embraced her alma mater’s spirit with joy and enthusiasm.
Connie was a dedicated member of Pinewood Presbyterian Church. Her compassionate heart shone brightly in her leadership roles with GriefShare and Stephen Ministries, where she provided comfort and guidance to countless individuals navigating challenging times.
Connie’s professional life was marked by her expertise and dedication as a financial analyst with NAVF. She also contributed her skills to numerous nonprofit agencies throughout her career, embodying her passion for service and her belief in making a meaningful difference in the world.
Connie’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her beloved daughter, J. Renee Elliott (David); her cherished grandsons, J. Brandon Crawford (Brittany) and Zach Elliott; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Mikal and Makenzy Crawford. Her family was the center of her world, and she adored being part of their lives. Connie also had a wide circle of friends with whom she loved to travel and socialize, enjoying group trips across the country and around the world via car, bus, plane, train, and ship. Her favorite mode of transportation was by far, sailing the high seas!
Connie’s nurturing spirit extended to her two fur babies, Sadie and Chico, who brought her endless joy and companionship. They have been lovingly placed together in a new home.
Connie’s warmth, wisdom, and unwavering faith will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love and service will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.
A celebration of Connie’s life will be held at Pinewood Presbyterian Church on Friday, December 13, 2024, with visitation at 10 a.m., followed by the service at 11 a.m., and a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in her memory to Pinewood Presbyterian Church or a nonprofit organization of your choice.
Her family finds comfort in knowing that Connie has been welcomed into the arms of her Savior, where she is now at peace.
