Craig Duncan Mundale, 69, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2019 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was surrounded by family and friends. He is survived by his wife Gwendolyn of 46 years. His parents and siblings predeceased him. He had been a resident of Green Cove Springs, Florida for over 40 years.
Craig was born in Lapeer, Michigan to Maynard and Lucille Mundale. They moved to Florida where he graduated from Tavares High School in 1968. After school, he joined the US Navy and had an illustrious career spanning over 24 years. He retired in 1996 as a Senior Chief. He graduated from St. John’s Community College with an Associates degree after retiring from the Navy.
Craig was an avid writer of short stories and loved fishing, bowling, shooting, music, and horse riding. He enjoyed sports; both participation and as a spectator.
He will be interred at the Jacksonville National Cemetery in Jacksonville, Florida on December 12th at 1:30 PM with military honors. The graveside ceremony will last about 30 minutes.
The family requests no flowers.
