David Boyd Thies

David Boyd Thies, of Green Cove Springs, Florida passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at the age of 72.

Prior to retiring, David owned and worked at Wyreworks as a master electrician contractor. He loved his family & fishing; two days before he passed, he was doing what he loved…being out on his boat fishing, even catching a catfish.

David will be remembered for his calm demeanor and love of flowers. His yard was a hobby, and he was excellent at maintaining it. He loved his dogs and with his gentle soul, they were drawn to him. He was very proud of his daughters and his stepchildren.

David is preceded in death by his mother and father, Frank and Alta Thies, his sister Patricia Miles, first love Sheryl Thies, brother-in-law Rainer Rouse and sister Kellie Troell. He is survived by his wife, Ann Huckaby-Thies, daughters Shellie and Lorin Thies, and stepdaughter and stepson Rachel and Aaron Crystal. David was known by his step-grandson as his remote-control car, David!

David will become a reef ball like his late wife Sheryl and be placed close to her in the Gulf of Mexico.
