Dennis R. Disney

Dennis R. Disney, a highly decorated Command Master Chief, passed away on January 10, 2025. Born on November 6, 1957, in Cleveland, Tennessee, Dennis was the son of Russell J. Disney and Gracie L. (Fowler) Disney. His family relocated to Joliet, Illinois, in the 1960s.

Dennis graduated from Central High School in 1975 and went on to serve his country in the United States Navy, enlisting in 1975. During his 30-year tenure, Dennis served on several ships, including the USS Enterprise (CVN-65), the USS Saratoga (CV-60), and the USS Forrestal (CVA-59). He also served in the Gulf War from 1991 to 1992 and retired in 2006 with numerous accolades.

Dennis resided in Fleming Island, Florida, with his loving wife, Linda K. Disney.

He is preceded in death by his father, Russell J. Disney; grandparents, Jesse and Ida Disney and Ira and Vida Fowler; uncles, aunts, cousins, and nephews.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; his first wife, Laurie (Saul) Disney; his two daughters, Chrissy (Jim) This and Lisa (Blake) Disney; his step-daughter, Stephanie De Lia; five grandchildren, Jacob (Chayce) Horton, Kaitlyn (Nick) Tate, Savannah (Liam) Beasley, Beren Durban, Megan Lawrence, and Whitney Coker; two great-grandchildren, Nicolas and Marley Tate; his brother, Ennis Disney; and his mother, Gracie Disney. Dennis is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles from the Disney, Fowler, and Floyd families.

A funeral service with full military honors will be held at the Jacksonville National Cemetery on January 28, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218. Cortege lane # 3.
