Diane Medford

July 23, 1942 — July 3, 2018

Diane Medford, 75, of Green Cove Springs, Fl, after a long illness, passed away July, 3, 2018. She was born, on July 23, 1942 in Kankakee, IL, the only child, to the late Mary Louise Lambert and Clarence Edward Campbell.

Diane’s career started as a school bus owner operator, later she drove for Clay County, where she retired. She had an extensive love of life, knew how to have fun and was fiercely independent. She centered her life around her family. In the early days she enjoyed league bowling, boating and water skiing. Diane loved bringing the family together for a camping trip. She and Oliver always took the family camping and boating which continued through with her grandchildren as well as great-grandchildren. She was at her happiest when she was spending time with her family at a campground or out on the water.

Diane is survived by her Husband of 50 years, Oliver F. Medford; her two children, Laura Jones (Terry), Mark Smith; her five grandchildren, Michele Marie Jones-Elguezabal (Jose), Georgia Jones, Angela Renee Neece (Brett), Michael Smith, Tiffany Kelly; her seven great-grandchildren, Christopher Lorenzo, Devin Elguezabal, Aidan Nicotra, Makayla Neece, Louie Kelly, Precious Kelly, Marshall Kelly and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, July 14, 2018 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Dr. Tim McDaniel officiating.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to Diane’s charity of choice, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
