Dolores A. Johnson

Dolores “Grammie” Johnson, 83, of Green Cove Springs, FL left us for life with our Heavenly Father on the morning of July 7, 2020.  Dolores passed peacefully surrounded by her loved ones at her home.

She is survived by three sons and one daughter, Dennis & Denise Ostrom of Rhinelander, WI, Greg Ostrom of Fruit Cove, FL, Bernie & Melinda Ostrom of Green Cove Springs, FL and Frank & Michelle Henson of Middleburg, FL; a brother, Oliver and sister-in-law, Marge Stefonek of Carol Stream, IL; nine grandchildren, Derek, Randy, Jeb, Ryian, Jessica, Andrea, Brooke, Tyler and Luke; five great-grandchildren, Jaden, Easton, Abby, Fallon and Hawkins; as well as many nieces, nephews, in-laws, friends and extended family. 

Dolores was born in Rhinelander, WI to Ben and Agnes Stefoneck.  She moved to the Chicago area, married and started her family before moving to Florida in 1973.  She resided in Green Cove Springs, with the exception of a short stint in the Ozarks of Arkansas, for the rest of her time here on Earth.

She spent her working career at various positions around the community.  After her retirement she volunteered faithfully at the Food Pantry and the Catholic Outreach Program.

I, Dennis, as the oldest surviving son, would like to take this time to express my sincerest gratitude to my sister, Michelle Henson, sister-in-law, Melinda Ostrom, my brothers, Greg and Bernie Ostrom, my niece, Ryian Mercer and family friend, Crystal Santiago for the love and unbounded support of “Grammie”, my mother, in her time of need.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Pendergraft as celebrant.
