Don Emron Wright, Jr., Middleburg, Florida passed away February 3, 2020. Don was born to Don Wright. and Elaine Arnoldson in Salina, Utah on December 5, 1937. Don grew up playing in his Mom and Stepdad’s dance band. He enlisted in the Navy in August 1955, in Grand Junction, Colorado and later transferred to Jacksonville, FL, where he joined the Hurricane Hunters at NAS Jax. He left the Navy in November 1959, to pursue a career in IT. He worked in the IT department of St Vincent’s Hospital until he decided to form his own company, designing medical billing software, in 1984. Don retired in 2000 but kept active by volunteering with Safe Animal Shelter and later with the Animal Rescue Movement.
Don will be remembered for his kindness, love of animals; especially kitties and of course for being… “Dancing Don”!
He was preceded in death by his Mother, Elaine Gerdes, Father, Don Wright, Sister, Gaye Wright and Brother, Jeff Gerdes. His is survived by his loving wife, Carol Wright, Sister, Vicki Privette (Otto) and Daughters, Jo Ellen Rieder and Lori Wright, Stepdaughters, Lesley Jones and Erin Brick (Steve) and a niece and nephew and many grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held February 23, 2020 at The River House, 2137 Astor St., Orange Park, FL 32073 from 3-6pm
