Donald Lewis Farmer, 80, of Orange Park, Florida passed away on August 3, 2023.Born to Fant and Claribel Farmer on November 6, 1942 in Palatka, Florida. He graduated from Palatka High School. After high school he joined the United States Marine Corps and served just shy of 10 years. Following his service, he became a private contractor as an aircraft mechanic. He was a member of CrossRoad Lutheran Church. He was an avid golfer, die hard Gator and Atlanta Braves fan. He will be remembered for being an amazing husband, father, papa, and friend. He found the most joy in watching his children and grandchildren grow up. After retiring his favorite thing to do was attend school and traveling sports events for his grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Fant Jr. and Dalton and sister Betty Manuel.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda Farmer; his children, son, Jamie (Amanda) and daughter, Melissa Crews; grandchildren, Justin Farmer, Alexis and Allyssa Crews and step-granddaughter Natalie Foret.
The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, August 10, 2023, in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Dr. Tim McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow at 1:00pm at the Jacksonville National Cemetery with military honors.
