Donald A. Fullerton

Donald A. Fullerton, 93, passed away on June 12, 2017.  He was born in Atkinson, NE on February 5, 1924 and moved to Penney Farms, FL with his parents and five siblings in 1926.  He attended Penney Farms and Clay High schools, graduating in 1941. He served in the Navy during WWII as an aviation radioman mainly in the Pacific Theater.  He married Mary Amos of Monticello, GA in 1946 and together they owned and operated Fullerton’s TV and Appliances in Green Cove Springs.  He served on the Green Cove Springs City Council from 1981 to 1993, twice as Mayor.  He was a member of the Green Cove Springs Elks Lodge 1892, VFW Post 1988 and the First United Methodist Church of Green Cove Springs where he was a dedicated choir member.  He was predeceased by his wife Mary and infant son Jimmy and is survived by his children Terry of Green Cove Springs, FL, Donald (Lynn) of St. Augustine, FL, Linda (Michael) Swift of Maryville, TN and Brenda King of Green Cove Springs, FL; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday, June 16, 2017 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church of Green Cove Springs with Rev. David Jackson officiating.  Interment with military honors will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
