Donald Keith Kingsnorth

Donald Keith Kingsnorth, 85, of Orange Park, FL passed peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on May 1, 2021.

He was born to George Kingsnorth and Betty (Morse) Kingsnorth on October 27, 1935 in Dwight, IL. Don graduated from Herscher High School in 1953 and immediately entered the United States Navy at the age of 17. He married Dorothy Mann on February 12, 1955 in Kankakee, IL. Don served in the Navy 21 years, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. He and his family relocated to Florida where he worked for Jacksonville Shipyard, North Florida Shipyard, and later retired from Sears at the Orange Park Mall.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church since the age of 12 and was a faithful member of Asbury United Methodist of Orange Park for 40 years. Donald was well known for his beautiful voice and singing in the Asbury Choir. He loved his church and served in many different ways.
Donald also had a love for nature and enjoyed photography. He was also a big sports fan. His favorite sports were football, basketball and hockey.

His biggest joy was his family and watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren enjoy life. He will be fondly remembered for his beautiful voice, his witty sense of humor, and caring nature.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, George and Betty Kingsnorth, and brothers, Kenneth, Elwyn, and Dale.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy Kingsnorth; daughter, Donna Chesser; two granddaughters, Samantha Greenlee (Michael) and Julie Gross (Jordan); great-grandchildren, Abigail, Josiah, Zachery, Lucas and Noah, all of Orange Park, FL; sister, Eloise Smithers (James) of Robbins, TN; sister-in-law, Bridget Kingsnorth of Kankakee, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

Burial will be held in the Jacksonville National Cemetery with full Military Honors. Service date to be determined.
