Don Raby, age 66, born on September 30, 1951 in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Richard K. Raby and Betty (Tinsley) Raby. He passed away July 9th, 2018 in his home in Orange Park, Florida.
He is survived by his wife Brenda (Gideons) Raby. They were together and married over 39 years. They were best friends, soul mates, companions and lovers. It is very rare that you find love like theirs.
Don was a loving husband, granddaddy, father, son, uncle, and brother. He loved his country and did his part in the U.S. Navy. He loved his family, friends and his country. He would do anything he could do for his family and friends. He did not want to see anyone suffer. He was the kindest, gentlest person that ever walked this planet. He always looked at the glass half full instead half empty. He was a great listener and had more patience that anyone I have ever met. Everyone loved him very deeply and he will be greatly missed. He wanted everyone to know. He doesn’t want anyone to mourn his death but to celebrate his life.
Don is survived by his best friend Anita. He looked at her like the daughter he never had and she loved and cared for him the same. Don is survived by his step-sons, Joey and Kenneth; his brother, Steve; his niece, Leona; nephew, Justin; and his son, Glynn. Don Is survived by 9 grandchildren, Heather, Mariah, Myranda, Mykenzie, April, Nina, Allen, Alyssa, and Clayton. Don is survived by his great-grandchildren on his step-son’s side, Kaedyn (Claxton) and Carter. Don is survived by many great-grandchildren on his son’s side.
