Donald R. Shepard

Don passed away November 14, 2019, in the Moosehaven Health Care Center one day shy of his 80^th birthday. He was born to Emanuel and Elma Shepard on November 15, 1939 in New Hanover County, NC. Don served in the US Navy Reserve from November 28, 1958 to December 2, 1960. He worked as a fence installer/security for Armstrong Fence Company retiring in 2002.

Don became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose on April 13, 1985 when he joined the Jacksonville Lodge #455. He was a member of Moose Legion 81 Seminole, FL. He came to Moosehaven with his wife Sandra on April 12, 2005. She preceded him in death on February 11, 2016. They were married 56 years.

Don is survived by his daughter, Pam Betancourt, sons Gary Shepard and Mitchel Shepard of Jacksonville, FL and daughter Tammy McKendre of Yulee, FL. Don’s twin sister, Peggy Beasley of Wilmington, North Carolina.

The family had a celebration of life for Don at the home of his daughter, Tammy. Don will be laid to rest in the Moosehaven Mausoleum with wife Sandra.
