Donald Keith Therrell was known by family as Ricky and known to many as The Cartoon Man. He was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 1957.
On November 26, 2021, in passing, Ricky left behind his father and mother William and Ollie or “Bill” and “Pud”; brother Kenny (Loretta and their family Bubba, Aerial, Kennison, William and Quincy); daughter Maria; and grandson Isaiah, who was his pride and joy.
Ricky also had a sister, Robyn, a decade younger who passed at age 41.
Donald saw foreign lands, experienced various cultures, sampled authentic cuisine, and served his country as a sailor aboard the USS Forrestal. After his service, he worked for Patient Transportation.
The Cartoon Man made children and adults smile and laugh as he drew original cartoons and amazed everyone with his talent of drawing names in bubble-letters without lifting his pen.
Ricky was strong and outspoken, never turning down a challenge - physical or verbal (he was never one to start the physical challenge but always willing to end it… When it comes to the verbal challenge, however, he was the aggressor, sometimes to the point that it changed from verbal to physical).
Ricky was struggling with many medical issues for many, many years, but never complained. During his final months, he lived with his parents and had Loretta as his caretaker.
He will be missed.
He will be remembered.
Rest in Peace Donald “Ricky” “The Cartoon Man”.
