Donald "Kelly" Yeager

Donald “Kelly” Yeager, 60 years old, passed away December 28, 2021, in Middleburg, FL after a long battle with cancer.

Born March 19, 1961, in Orange Park, FL, he was the son of Donald Van Yeager and Betty Jean (Hatcher) Yeager.  He was a lifelong resident of Clay County and attended Orange Park High School and graduated in 1979.

Kelly worked hard all his life. He spent most of his career in land development as a heavy equipment operator. He always said, “he still played in the dirt, his toys just got bigger”.

Kelly was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. However, his true passion was saltwater fishing. He passed this love and knowledge of the outdoors on to his family and anyone who wanted to learn. He enjoyed helping others, teaching them, and watching them have a good day on the water. If you had a good day on the water in his boat, he had an even better day without even catching a fish. He had a life full of adventures and stories to tell.

Kelly was a dedicated and loving husband and family man. He was a fun and wonderful dad and an amazing papa.

Kelly is survived by his mama Betty Jean (Hatcher) Yeager; his wife, Cindy (Judkins) Yeager; daughter, Amanda (Yeager)Anderson (Travis); grandchildren, Hunter and Annaleigh Anderson; brother, Danny Yeager (Christine); sisters, Cindy Furlong (Dale), Nancy Yeager-Graddy and Sherri (Judkins) Yeager; father-in-law, Douglas Judkins; nieces and nephews, Kaila Yeager (Sam Russo), Joy Jones, Jeremy Jones, Ryan Furlong (Ariel), Stacy Young (Austin), Jessica Watson (Keith), Josh Byrne and Jonathon Byrne; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Van Yeager and nephew, Jason Jones.

A gathering of friends and family will be held 5:00 - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, January 5, 2022 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel.

Graveside service will be 11:30 am, Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Holly Hill Memorial Park.
