Donovan Joseph Branham II (DJ) age 56 of Orange Park, FL passed away peacefully on August 14, 2021. DJ was married with 2 children he adored. He was an avid Denver Broncos and FSU Seminoles fan. He played basketball and slow pitch softball in his younger days and graduated on to become an amazing coach to children and young adults with both Special Olympics and The YMCA. It was his greatest passion to be able to see the joy and satisfaction in kids’ successes. DJ also spent years with The Moose Family Fraternity and The American Cancer Society, raising awareness to other causes that impacted his life. DJ will always be remembered as the loud, fun-loving man who lived his life like the song he loved to sing Karaoke to “Live like you were dying”.
DJ was preceded in death by his mother Donna, Aunt Shirley, Grandmother Ruth, Grandfather Robert, and Cousin Clay.
He is survived by his Wife Janette, Daughter Sherilyn, Son RJ, Father Joe, Sister Shelley (Rich), Aunt Vicky (Dave), Cousins Kevin(Jessica), Andrea (Buddy), Chrystal, Nieces Jaden and Emily, Nephews Justin, Andrew, Kyle, Zach, Luke and too many extended family members and friends to count.
As anyone who was blessed to know DJ, you know he would not want us to mourn him but to Celebrate his Life. We will be planning multiple Celebrations and will update as we do.
At this time if you would like to honor him please make a donation in his memory to one of the Charities he had passion for, Special Olympics Florida, YMCA of Florida’s First Coast, The American Cancer Society or one that calls to you.
