Doris Boyd Woodcock Fortner

Doris Boyd Woodcock Fortner, 69, of Anderson, SC passed away June 6, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born to parents James Ed and Hazel (Turley) Boyd on June 17, 1948 in Alabama. She was married to Raymond Woodcock (deceased) then to Earl Fortner. She worked at Gustafson’s and Wrights Dairies in Green Cove Springs, Charlie Owens in Swannanoa, NC and Ingles Grocery in North and South Carolina.

Doris attended Congregational Holiness Church in Green Cove Springs and her hobbies included fishing, Gospel sings, cooking and spending time with family.

She will be remembered as a wonderful sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and a great Godly woman.

Doris was predeceased by her parents; a brother, David Lee Boyd; her first husband Raymond Woodcock; infant son Raymond Woodcock Jr. and grandson, Baby Zain Woodcock.

Doris is survived by son, Randy Woodcock (Mitsy Fortner) of Fletcher, NC; daughters, Sandra Mehaffey (Chris) and Lacy (Mark Jones) Fortner, both of Anderson, SC; sisters, Barbara (Bobbie) Hendricks of Green Cove Springs, FL, Ann Louise (Steve) Woodcock of Middleburg, FL; brothers, Charles Boyd, George Boyd and Earl Boyd all of Green Cove Springs, FL and Carlos Boyd of Jacksonville, FL; ex-husband and friend, Earl Fortner; grandchildren, LaShawn Dawnyea Rouse, La’Niece Shakura Harris, Kelsion Xavier Rouse, Tad Lee Mehaffey and Megan Ashlee Mehaffey ; and great-grandbaby, La’Khaya Nyshawn Rosemond; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Broadus-Raines Funeral Home on Sunday, June 10, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 11, 2018 at Congregational Holiness Church, 2079 S.R. 16W, Green Cove Springs, FL with Rev. Ronnie Surrency officiating. Interment will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery.
