Doris “Dena” Wydeen Waltrip

Doris “Dena” Wydeen Waltrip, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on March 30, 2021. Dena was born in Seneca, South Carolina to Dolly Wydeen Wall Jones and Edward G. Jones.
Dena started her working career at Coca-Cola and after several years moved and advanced her career with Anheuser-Busch, working at the Metal Container division located in Jacksonville, Florida. After retirement she spent her time with family and friends.
Dena had a quick wit and a tremendous sense of humor which kept everyone around her smiling. She had a strong personality with strong character. She was a woman of faith and enjoyed spending some of her quiet time reading her bible.
Dena will always be remembered for her generous heart and always giving to those in need. She was an avid animal lover who particularly had a soft heart for dogs, and she passed that passion down throughout generations of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed different crafts, especially crocheting, and enjoyed sharing her crafts with others. She was an avid gardener and spent many hours beautifying her outdoor surroundings.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Dolly Wydeen Wall Jones and Edward G. Jones; step-father, E.L. Smith; her beloved husband, Donald G. Waltrip; son Michael L Hill and brothers William Jones and Ansel Jones.
Dena is survived by her daughter Adrienne W. Crowder, son Jackie E.Varnadoe, son Henry S. Varnadoe (Sandra), 2 grandsons Brian S. Crowder (Heather) and Philip L. Crowder, a great-grandson Benjamin S. Crowder, a brother Sanford “Ray” Jones and several step children, step grandchildren, and a step great-grandson.
A private celebration of life will occur at a later date.
