Dorothy Lee Harvey, affectionately known as Granny, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2020. Her friends lovingly called her Dot. She was born on February 23, 1941 to Frank and Annie Reta Price in Grandin, FL. In 1959, Dot graduated from Melrose High School. After many years in the banking industry, she retired as a bank manager from Barnett Bank around 1985. Dot married Walter Raymond Harvey in December of 1960. She was a member of Paran Baptist Church as a child and became a longtime member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church as an adult. At home, Dot was an avid gardener. When not gardening at home, she enjoyed attending her sons' sporting events which included football, baseball, and wrestling. Later the sporting events she attended were those of her grandchildren. Dot will be most remembered for being faithful to God and loving her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Annie Reta Price, her sister Doris, and her son Roger Harvey. Dot is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Walter Harvey, son Donnie (Brenda) Harvey, daughter-in-law Nancy Harvey, all of Green Cove Springs, her brother Calvin (Earline) Price of Florahome, 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
There will be Visitation in the Broadus-Raines Chapel on Monday, June 15, 2020 at 10:00 am. The funeral service, officiated by Doug Hemanes, will follow in the chapel at 11:00 am. Graveside service will follow immediately at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
