Dorothy I. Rogers

Dorothy I. Rogers, 93, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away December 17, 2017.  She was born on July 30, 1924 in Portland, Maine to the late Edward and Edith (Griffin) Smith.  She came to the area in 1983 from Maine and was of the Protestant faith.  Mrs. Rogers had worked as a receptionist for many years for her daughter’s real estate company, ERA Burnette Realty.  She enjoyed going to the Elks Lodge and dancing the Jitterbug.  She loved children, traveling with her daughter and playing with her grand-dog, Daisy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Rogers; brother, Ernest Smith; sister, Edith Gavett and grandson, Troy Burnette.  Mrs. Rogers is survived by her daughter, Donna Burnette of Green Cove Springs, FL.

The family will receive friends from 9:00am to 11:00am on Saturday, December 23, 2017 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel and the funeral service will start at 11:00am with Dr. Tim McDaniel officiating.  Burial will follow in Penney Farms Cemetery.
