Douglas Apelian went to be with Our Lord unexpectedly on October 10, 2023.
Doug was born in Brooklyn, New York, on March 2, 1962, to parents, George Apelian, Father, and Barbara Church Apelian, Mother. Doug grew up in Staten Island. During high school years, he was an avid tennis player competing in tournaments. After high school, he started his career in publishing. Doug continued his career into the years he spent living in North Carolina and eventually moved to Ponte Vedra, Florida. Doug retired from publishing, taking time off to spend with his family and children. He enjoyed traveling with his daughter to her swim meets. He also cherished fishing with his son. Doug always used to say, “his son taught him how to fish” and his son was only 12 years old at that time. As the children grew up, Doug decided to go back into the workforce, to a different field, this time giving something back and graduating as an LPN. He continued in that career until retiring in 2018.
Retiring to Green Cove Springs, Florida. He loved living in the country, moving into his river home with his beautiful wife. They enjoyed spending time on the dock watching not only the sunsets, but always on the lookout for the Space X launches. He appreciated his beautiful and exotic cars. He brought so much love and joy to the people he met along his journey.
Doug is survived by his loving wife, Alison. Children; daughter, Elise, son, Michael. Stepchildren; Christin, William and Jack. His brother George and family. Close loved ones, Becky and Matthew and their two children. Virginia, mother to Doug’s children, and numerous step grandchildren.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents, George and Barbara Apelian, as well as his Auntie Hilda.
